Children & War: I Will Always Worry

When they say - Don't worry!
You should not be sorry!
They don't know, they don't know
I have sinned

Smile and dance, be gracious!
Life is short, yet spacious
Chances come each second,
And we really reckon
You should smile, you should dance
Once again

So they say - Don't worry!
You should not be sorry!
They don't know, they don't know
I have sinned

Children cry, their sorrow
Will go on tomorrow
Yet here I stand so passive
When I really should be active
Reaching out, reaching out
With my love

Still they say - Don't worry!
You should not be sorry!
They don't know, they don't know
I have sinned

What kind of person am I
When I let this child cry?
Parents dead; heartbroken
Indeed his eyes have spoken
Of the horror, the terror
Of war

And when they say - Don't worry!
You should not be sorry!
I will smile in sadness;
Say I'll always worry,
Always be so sorry
When you don't, when you don't
Value life!

A Pearl of Life: A Dedication to the Broken Family

A pearl of life in my hand
From here of which I stand
I see it all, and all is true
A childs face, so sad, so blue.

Heartbreak comes, heartbreak goes
Mother cries, but only shows
A quarter of what burns inside
Of sadness, anger; an emotional tide.

Do you know, no, do you care
Of all the years of abuse they'd share?
In this closed group, called Anonymous Mothers
Who brutally got abused by their lovers.

And from here, of which I stand
I hold a pearl, a child, hand in hand
I see it all, and all is true;
Two broken eyes, so sad, so blue.

Please HELP! Have you seen Madeleine McCann?

It totally breaks my heart to know that Madeleine is not found yet. Over two weeks has passed since she was abducted. My prayers and thoughts go to Madeleine's family and relatives; I truly pray she will be sound and safe and return home as soon as possible.

How could any one be so heartless?

I Got Tagged!! - 7 weird things about me

I am honoured and glad to tell that I have been tagged by DesigningFairy to share 7 weird things about me, and then tag up to 7 other bloggers. It sounds fun, so here we go:

#1: I'm obsessed with poetry. Sometimes I feel it's easier to express my emotions using poetry than other forms of creative writing, and at times, even speech!

#2: I can be totally nocturnal at times (but not always - I have crazy sleeping pattern), living life at night time. It gives me the pleasure of the combination of total silence and deep concentration.. it just feels, ah, perfect!

#3: I have this passion and love for animals. I understand them (although at times, agressive animals scare the breath out of me!). People come to me and say, "oh that's just a dog, he's dumb, just ignore him" and I look into that dogs eyes, see it smile, and almost feel him saying "that human is retarted, just ignore him!". And btw, while we're at it, I've always wished for a white arabian since childhood. One day hopefully, I'll get one. One day..

#4: At times, I usually get obsessed with photography, and take hundred of shots in one day. Few would turn out nice and neat, however sometimes, the blurry effect makes me frustrated.. Sharpness, sharpness, sharpness! I need sharpness and a new SLR camera! :(

#5: Colour makes my heart sing! I totally cannot live without colour. So when people ask "what's your favourite colour?", I say "blue", sometimes "green", sometimes "pink", sometimes "red".. I love them all, so what should I say? The rainbow?

#6: I'm obsessed with my pc, internet and blog. I must be crazy, as I check my blogs at least twice a day for comments and feedback, only to see only few and sometimes none has commented. It kinda breaks me.
So I sit hours and hours trying to edit and improve the blog. Like DesigningFairy, I only end up with a banging headache and at times, frustration.

#7: I didn't get to see the sea in my whole life, until last year when I went to a trip to Blackpool. I know it's weird, it's like: EVERYBODY has seen the sea.. but no, I never saw it until last year. And I thought: wow! Truly beautiful. I've put some pictures on this blog, if you want to check them out. I love the sea! The feeling of freedom :)

OK. I'd like to tag: Steven Alexander, Wonder Woman, Evolution83.

Alright then, have a nice day everyone!

Poetry: I feel oh so lonely

I feel oh so lonely

Like a rose with no petals
A sky with no stars
A world with no people

Emptiness only
In this room

No guidance, no light
All colours drained
Like reality fading

This place
This life

No thoughts, no words
Only a silent lullaby

And I feel

Oh, so lonely

Freelance Trip: Iraq

Click on the individual photos to enlarge.

South Turkey

The Road to Iraq. Southern Turkey.

The Road to Iraq. Southern Turkey.

Winter Orange

Sign of hope? Last winter orange on the tree.

Stairs in Iraq

Climb, climb.. and you may reach your liberty.. at its end.

Iraqi Home

An Iraqi home.. So perfectly peaceful.
Now who would know about the bloody war that's going on behind these walls?

Iraqi Gas

A bottle of gas. People offer their lifetime for this,
queueing from sunrise to sunset (literally).
So, this "liberation" included the Iraqi oil resources too, huh?

Kirkuk's Trash

The other side of the walls.
A destroyed, trashed, and most importantly, "liberated" country!

My neighbour's naughty cat

I found my neighbour's cat in the garden today, and so I decided to capture few photos of Fred. Only Fred decided to be a little bit naughty, a little bit cheeky, and totally not sit still (well, she is a cat after all) :) Anyhow, I did capture few photos of her (yes it IS a her), enjoy ;)

Poetry: A Prayer

I ask you Lord
Guide me
For I
Surrounded by darkness
See nothing but darkness
And in this blindness
I am filled with sadness
Guide me Lord
From this madness!

Norwegian Poetry: Doeden (The Death)

Mens vinden gjør sine piruetter
I skyggen av solens stråle
Løper barnet over havet
Stuper mot en fjern galakse
Lengter bort fra askenetter
Til et sted med stjernedryss
Til de rom med lyse kroker
Ut en port med hvite blomster
Til en bekk med røde tårer
Faller sakte ned mot jorden
Svever inn i kantet kasse
Blomster drysses over fjeset
Blekt og uten tegn til skyld
Ned i dypet synker barnet
Trøttheten får overmakt
Å du lille barn, drøm søtt!
For du vil aldri våkne.
